Under the banner of Campaign Against State Repression, students and youth of Delhi were actively organizing street campaigns against the clampdown of the state on the democratic rights of the people. These campaigns were organized prior to a programme named ‘Thoughts Criminalised’ to be held on 5th December, 2022 at HKS Bhawan, Delhi demanding the release of political prisoners like G N Saibaba.
The campaigns are going on for some days. Today, as a reaction to this campaign, a gang of ABVP goons consisting of at least 50 members attacked the students in front of the Maurice Nagar Police Station. They were brutally beaten by ABVP goons and when they were taken to Hindu Rao Hospital, there also a massive number of ABVP goons surrounded the hospital in an offensive mode.
AIRSO vehemently condemns this fascist attack on the students by the ABVP goons. At the same time, we should understand why these attacks take place against those who raise their voice for the release of political prisoners and at the same time the police and all other state machineries remain silent to this. The RSS fascist offensive with full-fledged support of all state machineries has breached all limits of tolerance. We appeal all the students and people to unite against the oldest and largest terrorist organisation of India, i.e, RSS and all its affiliate wings that destroy the democratic spaces. We declare our solidarity with the CASR comrades who resisted this offensive with their revolutionary spirit.
