Revolutionary Cultural Forum (RCF) condemned the imposition of “saffron/fascist fatwa” on theater artists by Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA).

Revolutionary Cultural Manch (RCF) strongly condemned the issuance of “Saffron Fatwa” on theater workers by Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA). It may be noted that SNA received grants from them under Guru Shishya Parampara (Repertory Grant). Instructions have been issued to theater groups in which it has been said that if the said institutions want to get grant from the Central Government, then they will have to present a new play ” Sone ki chidiya” on the three subjects “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, “Panch Pran” and “Developed India” in the last phase of Bharat Rang Mahotsav on 21 st February.There is a dialogue in the script of the play which was spoken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 summit, “Lo aayi fir sone ki chidiya”.In the play it is depicted that during Mughal era,India’ s glory has declined and it is restored in Modi’ s regime.Apart from that it was also mentioned that during Covid,Modi govt has done like a miracle. Revolutionary Cultural Forum (RCF) has strongly condemned this saffron fatwa of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, an organization of the Government of India. RCF says that thousands of drama groups across the country have been receiving grants from SNA. But this is the first time that theater workers will have to perform dramas on the instructions and agenda of Sanghi Manuwadi fascist forces for Modi Mahima. Otherwise, the grants received by them will be at stake. Exactly similar problems have been created by the Modi government for almost all other NGOs except RSS and its affiliated organizations. RCF has appealed to all the progressive cultural organizations to raise their voice unitedly against this fascist act of the Modi government.
