Resolutely Condemn Police Firing and Killing of Farmer!
Rise up in Solidarity with Struggling Farmers!!
CPI (ML) Red Star
CPI (ML) Red Star resolutely condemns the killing of young farmer 21 year-old Subhkaran Singh and injuring many in police firing of tear gas shells and rubber bullets on struggling farmers. As farmers, who have been camping at border-points since 23 February, are intensifying their ‘Dilli Chalo’ agitation, and in the process breaching barricades, especially in Shambhu and Khanauri at Punjab-Haryana border, the Haryana Police coordinating with fascist machinery at the Centre, according to reports, are even using drones to drop tear gas shells to suppress the farmers strike.
As already discussed, the Farmers are struggling for their genuine demands, the immediate and most urgent being legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP) for crops and farm debt waiver. However, the Modi govt. had already succumbed to the diktats of WTO whose provisions are against any kind of domestic protection to farmers. Modi regime, confronted by historic Farmers’ Struggle, though was forced to withdraw the draconian Farm Laws, is again committed to facilitate agricultural corporatisation and serve the interests of corporate MNCs and agribusiness companies. Now it is bent on suppressing farmers to appease both Indian and foreign agribusinesses.
We Condemn this fascist move of the corporate-Saffron regime and declare our wholehearted solidarity with the struggling farmers. We call upon all workers and peasants and democratic forces to come forward in support of the valiant struggle of the farmers and compel Modi regime to concede to the genuine demands of the farmers without delay.
