Β  Β  Β To families of the workers who lost their lives in the Kuwait fire disaster and Nagpur firecracker factory, the Central Committee of the Trade Union Center of India has expressed deep condolences.
Β  Β  Β  The number of Indians living in Kuwait is 21% of the total population there.Β  Out of a total of 10 lakh Indian people, there are 9 lakh migrant workers.Β  What is the legal protection for hotel and Domestic migrant workers?Β  Governments of India and Kuwait are working on behalf of corporate companies that transport contract workers from country to country.Β  The international clamor has increased due to the exorbitant unemployment in India and other countries as a result of Imperialist neoliberal economic policies.Β  Along with 40 workers from India, workers fromΒ  Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal have lost their lives. Therefore, the governments of these countries are also responsible for the killings of these workers.Β  TUCI strongly condemns uncontrolled and unprotected migration of workers.
Β  Β  The death of 6 workers in Nagpur is the continuation of the serial tragedies of firecracker factories in India!
Β  Β  Β Therefore, the central government should give compensation of 25 lakhs each to the families of Kuwaiti and Nagpur labor victims families.and TUCI hereby demands that appropriate legal action be taken against the company and management responsible for this tragedy.
Β  Β  Β  In addition, through this announcement, TUCI called for workers to fight unitedly against governments that are maintaining unemployment, migration and contract labor practices through liberalization and privatisation.
