Anti-fascist progressive, democratic forces should unite

Raipur 31/05/2025 :- Trade Union Centre of India (TUCI) today observed the 35th martyrdom day in village Gatapar Abhanpur,Dist.- Raipur by paying tribute to martyr Comrade Ramesh Parida. After paying tribute, State Secretary of CPI (ML) Red Star Comrade Saura said that comrade Ramesh Parida was an employee of Hanuman Agroindustries Paragaon Nayapara, on 31st May 1990 he was protesting in front of Abhanpur police station, police opened fire on the workers in which Ramesh Parida died, under the leadership of TUCI, the workers raised the demand of implementing labor laws, giving minimum wages, against making fake cases, opposing the dictatorship of the capitalist, release of arrested comrades and living wages. They were peacefully demonstrating in front of the Abhanpur police station. The police fired on the workers at the behest of the BJP government of Sundarlal Patwa at that time, in which Comrade Ramesh Parida was killed, hundreds of people were injured, 144 people were arrested. The owners of Paragaon Paper Mill, Paragaon, Gunpowder Factory, Abhanpur and Rice Mills and factories were facing hooliganism and dictatorship for a long time. It was common for the police and the owners to make fake cases against the workers and arrest them at the behest of the capitalist. The demonstration was held on these issues. Even after 35 years of the above incident, the condition of the country has become even worse. On 31 July 2014, a big explosion took place in the fuse-gunpowder factory due to the negligence of the owners, in which 5 workers died. The owner of the company was from BJP, but it was not even touched. Today again on 25th May, there was an explosion in a gunpowder company in village Pirda of Berla area in which many people were killed. Last year on 09th April, 13 workers died due to a bus falling in Kumhari mine. What happened to that incident till now is not known. Apart from this, the death of workers in Silatra industrial area Raipur, Bhilai factory and other industries of the state has become a common thing. The fascist Modi government of RSS/BJP at the center has changed 44 labor laws and brought 04 labor codes in the interest of the owners. Today the worker has become a slave of the capitalists. The rights that the workers had achieved by fighting, all those rights and labor laws have been abolished. In all the factories, 12 to 14 hours of work is done. The labor department is working as the henchmen of the owners. After the Corona pandemic, the lives of the poor laborers have been destroyed, the poor people are neither getting food, employment nor proper treatment. The lives of 40 crore migrant casual laborers have been destroyed, 14 crore people have become unemployed, today there is the highest unemployment in 45 years, unemployment is increasing day by day and the Modi government says that good days will come, there is talk of making the people self-reliant. The capitalist imperialist system is acting as a taut for the capitalists by putting the burden of crisis on the shoulders of hardworking laborers, farmers, Dalits and tribals. Com. Hemant of AIKKS said that the RSS/BJP government, which is henchmen of corporate houses, is implementing neo-liberal policies. Unemployment is the highest in the last 45 years, inflation is skyrocketing, corruption is increasing day by day, theft of sand and gravel is going on in Abhanpur block, complaints were lodged but no action has been taken, 63695 posts are lying vacant in the education department in the state, in the name of rationalization, the government is eliminating 43849 posts of teachers in the entire state and 4500 schools are going to be closed, on the other hand, despite the opposition of women in the state, 67 new liquor shops are being opened, which will increase this number to 741. The double engine government plans to end education, health, employment and earn profit from liquor. Therefore, TUCI calls upon the workers and workers’ organizations that all the trade unions need to unite and intensify the struggle for workers’ rights against this corrupt system.
Com.Pramila Banjare from the Progressive Anganwadi Workers Helpers Union, Hemant Kumar, Secretary of All India Revolutionary Kisan Sabha, Devsingh Tarak, Thansingh Mande, Mulchand Sahu, Bharat Lal Dhritlahare from TUCI expressed their views.
The speakers appeal to all anti-fascist progressive, democratic forces to unite and intensify the struggle to achieve workers’ rights against saffron fascism and the crony corporate allignment.
