Revolutionary Cultural Forum Terms “Udaipur Files” a Product of Sanghi-Manuwadi Fascist Islamophobic Film

Says the Film is Meant to Spread Hatred and Division in Society

New Delhi, 13 July 2025 – The Revolutionary Cultural Forum (RCF) has condemned the film “Udaipur Files” as an integral part of the fascist Sangh Parivar’s project of promoting hatred and division in the country. According to RCF, the film displays highly objectionable and controversial content targeting Muslims, mosques, madrasas, and Muslim religious leaders in a cunning and calculated manner—deeply hurting the religious sentiments of the Muslim community. Most dangerously, the film aligns with the ongoing hate campaign across the country under the guidance of the fascist RSS, further intensifying communal discord and social division.

RCF believes that just like Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, Jahangir National University (JNU), and The Sabarmati Report, the Udaipur Files too is part of a well-orchestrated campaign to portray Islam and Muslims as demonic figures. With the fascist Modi regime’s misrule causing devastating poverty, hunger, inflation, and unemployment, the RSS-BJP has no better tool than such divisive propaganda films to divert public attention. These films pose a grave threat to the country’s culture of communal harmony and shared legacy of collective sacrifice.

It is notable that the Delhi High Court has currently stayed the release of Udaipur Files. The Revolutionary Cultural Forum (RCF) has called such films a form of psychological warfare against the country’s minorities, especially the Muslim community. RCF remarked that it is telling that in the last more than 11 years of Modi’s rule—during which he has acted as a loyal servant to a handful of corrupt corporate tycoons like Adani and Ambani—not a single film or documentary has been made on the countless victims of mob lynching like Akhlaq, Junaid, or Afrazul. We are not even mentioning the mass killings of Muslims in Gujarat in 2002 and Christians in Kandhamal, Odisha in 2008.

Ironically, while the Central Board of Film Certification—under BJP government directives—places numerous hurdles in releasing progressive, pro-people films and curbs freedom of expression, it happily clears hate-filled majoritarian propaganda films like Udaipur Files and even defends its partisan decisions in court.

RCF has appealed to all progressive cultural organizations to raise public awareness against films like Udaipur Files and to build a united cultural resistance against the poisonous culture of hatred and division promoted by the Sanghi-Manuwadi/Brahmanical fascist forces.
