CPI (ML) Red Star condemns the TDP–Janasena government for attacking the rights of the differently-abled

The CPI (ML) Red Star strongly condemns the reduction of pensions for the differently-abled by the TDP–Janasena coalition government in Andhra Pradesh. The ruling alliance, which claims to be working for the upliftment of the poor and marginalized, in practice only serves the interests of the rich and corporate houses. This cruel act is clear evidence of that.
Pensions for the differently-abled are not charity; they are a minimum right won through long struggles by people’s movements and democratic forces. By cutting these pensions, the government is directly attacking the most oppressed and downtrodden sections of society. This inhuman act will push thousands of differently-abled people into deeper poverty, despair, and humiliation.
The TDP–Janasena government came to power promising “social justice” and “support for those in need.” But within just a few weeks, its actions have exposed its real agenda—cutting benefits for the poor while granting concessions to contractors, real estate lobbies, and corporate friends. While giving tax exemptions and freebies to big businesses, their talk of “financial discipline” is nothing but a sham.
The struggle for pensions is not just a welfare issue—it is part of the larger class struggle against neoliberal policies that rob the poor to subsidize the rich. The rights of the differently-abled, workers, farmers, women, and youth are being trampled upon.
The government must immediately restore and increase pensions for the differently-abled and all vulnerable sections. The CPI (ML) Red Star firmly commits to fighting alongside organizations of the differently-abled until justice is achieved.
Down with the anti-people policies of the TDP–Janasena government!
Immediately restore pensions for the differently-abled!
