The Modi government’s move to amend the 2019 Transgender Persons Act is perfectly in tune with the diktats of Manusmriti, the ideological guideline of RSS, that treats women and all oppressed as “subhuman”. In fact, the historic judgement of the Supreme Court, upholding the fundamental rights of transgenders with the stipulation that the “third gender” should be recognised on the basis of “self-identification” without requiring medical procedures, came on March 15, 2014, just two months before the ascent of the Modi regime on May 26, 2014. Later, it was under strong democratic pressure that the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act came into being in 2019, in consonance with the 2014 ruling of the Supreme Court.

However, the fascist stranglehold over all aspects of Indian society has been steadily intensifying ever since the ascendance of the Modi regime. Not only Hindutva fascists, but fascists the world over, are opposed to transgender people because they view gender non-conformity as a threat to their rigid social order, which is based on traditional gender roles, and patriarchal social structures. Transgender identities defy the “biological essentialism” that fascist ideology uses to enforce strict societal control. Since fascism relies on a strict, traditional binary of male/female roles, transgender identities are considered as a threat to its “nationalism” (cultural nationalism in the case of RSS), as it disrupts the idea of a nation, by undermining traditional family structures which are essential for a strong nation. To be precise, all fascists, are opposed to a “gender theory” that encompasses feminism and transgender movements , and always brand them as “liberal”and “left” threats to the traditional social order. In other words, neoliberal fascists (neo-fascists) the world over, who are patriarchal to the core , target all transgender movements and frame LGBTQ+ rights as a threat to the fascist regime. Trumpism, the US version of fascism today, is a typical instance. Trump is notorious for using language that dehumanises transgender people depicting them as a social threat. He has already directed federal law enforcement agencies to investigate “radical gender ideology” stigmatizing it as a threat to US. Now, through the Transgender Amendment Act, the Modi regime, which is clinging on to the apron strings of Trump regarding policy decisions, is now copying the same for India also.

Now coming to the issue,the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026 that was introduced in Lok Sabha on March 13, 2026 redefines the transgender Identity so as to deny or exclude such persons from the Constitutional protection by shifting them away from “self-perceived identity” toward a stricter, “medical-board-based” recognition process. This undermines both the spirit of the 2019 Act and the 2014 Supreme Court judgement that fully upheld the self-identification process and rejected the need of a medical board. Without going into the details, as all organisations and movements of the transgender people and oppressed peoples organisations including all well-meaning people have already stated, this fascist move to forcefully interfere in the Identity of transgender people is aimed at excluding and further marginalising them by denying them employment and welfare provisions. While the material objective of this far-right heinous move is denying welfare, dignity and employment, its ideological foundation is “gender essentialism” and patriarchy inherent in “cultural nationalism” and its approach towards denying the right of self-determination to transgender persons.

We appeal to all democratic and progressive forces to rise up against this reactionary move on the part of the fascist regime and stand in solidarity with the transgender persons at this critical juncture. All those who oppose fascism should come Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill 2026 which seeks to remove trans persons’ right resolutely demanding the Modi government to summarily withdraw the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill 2026 that deny them the right to self-determination and the fundamental rights to live with dignity.

The chief speaker at the protest meeting was renowned human rights activist Bhawar Meghwanshi, National Secretary of the PUCL. The meeting was chaired by Comrade Lakhan Subodh, Convenor of PMSM and President of GSS. Ramnarayan Baghel’s wife, Mrs. Lalita, was specially present at the programme. The proceedings were conducted by Comrade Kaladas, State General Secretary of PUCL.

Other speakers included PUCL State President Junoos Tirkey; folk singer Asha Subodh; Advocate Priyanka Shukla; Comrade Manharan Yadav, leader of the Inquilabi Mazdoor Sangathan; Rameshwar Kurre of the Migrant Workers’ Organisation; Comrade Lakhan Singh of the CPI; Pastor Anishcharan; Comrade Tuhin, All-India Convenor of the Caste Annihilation Movement; Wahid Ali Siddiqui, State Vice-President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind; AAP leader Jasbir Singh; and former judge Prabhakar Gwal. Comrade Kaladas and Asha Subodh presented revolutionary mass songs.

In the protest meeting, it was unanimously resolved that the fascist RSS and its affiliated organisations—Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad—are responsible, both in the state and across the country, for spreading hatred and division, unleashing communal violence against minorities, especially Muslims and Christians, as well as against Dalits, oppressed sections, women and Adivasi communities, and for undermining the Constitution of India and the country’s pluralistic traditions. The administration was therefore urged to impose a ban on these communal organisations.

Demands were raised before the Kerala and Chhattisgarh governments to provide adequate compensation to the family of Ramnarayan Baghel. A resolution was also passed demanding that the Kerala government ensure strict punishment for the Sangh-affiliated, Manuvadi criminals responsible for the murder and take firm measures to curb communal fascist saffron gangs in the state of Kerala.

The protest meeting unanimously adopted a pledge to build united resistance—from Parliament to the streets—by all progressive democratic forces and the exploited and oppressed people against the fascist Sangh Parivar and its brutal, Manusmriti-based Hindutva state project.

Representatives of major mass organisations of the state participated in the anger protest meeting.

It is High Time World People Rose up against US Imperialism!

In continuation of dozens of boat strikes, murder of more than a hundred people over the past two months and largest navy build-up, neo-fascist Trump has now unleashed one of the worst aggressions led by US Elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment against Venezuela. And, as reported, the US ⁠has ‘captured’ Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro along with his wife Cilia Flores and flown them out of ⁠the country. Details of the casualties and other destruction from the large-scale precision strikes against civilian and military installations are yet to come.

Since his ascent to power, ‘isolationalist’ Trump has been invoking the Monroe Doctrine to bring the entire Americas as “protectorates” under US imperialist diktat. In the process, he had no qualms even to claim Canada as the 51st state of US. Of course, US imperialism considers the entire Latin America as its backyard. And from the very beginning, Trump was eying on the largest oil reserve and $1.36 trillion worth of mineral wealth of Venezuela, as part of bringing the entire natural weath of Latin America and the Caribbean as strategic assets of US, as part of MAGA. With this perspective, Trump administration has been planning a well-thought out ‘regime change’ strategy, labelling Maduro government as “narco-terrorist” and “terrorist drug cartel”, even as many studies have already highlighted the involvement of CIA in world narco business.

As world people know, even while not practicing ‘direct colonialism’, the whole trajectory of US ascendancy as the supreme imperialist power has been filled with naked loot, plunder, genocide and holocausts upon holocausts on innocent people of the world. The terror unleashed by Yankees while exterminating the indigenous people of America had surpassed everything that preceded it. And, after becoming the supreme arbiter of postwar neocolonialism, the horrors committed by US are known to world people. All these make US imperialism the number one terrorist regime and the principal enemy of world people today.

The latest US attack on Venezuela is a blatant and flagrant violation, not only of its sovereignty, but of international law itself. It’s a breach of Article 2(4) of UN Charter of which US imperialism is also a signatory. The entire Latin America and comity of nations should come forward demanding an emergency meeting of UN to discuss this terror attack by US, which is a rogue criminal regime before world people. The world people have to come forward for appropriate measures for the immediate withdrawal of US from Venezuela, ensuring its sovereignty and full right to self-determination.

AIRWO strongly condemns the suspension of Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s sentence

Calls for a united struggle for justice for the Unnao victim and against the gross mistreatment of the victim by the fascist, anti-women Modi government

The All India Revolutionary Women’s Organisation (AIRWO) has strongly condemned the Delhi High Court’s suspension of the life sentence of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the horrific rape and murder case. It has also strongly condemned the gross mistreatment of the Unnao victim and the activists of the people’s movement protesting with her in Delhi by the police of the fascist, Manuvadi, anti-women Modi government.
Sengar was not only convicted of raping a minor victim in Makhi village of Unnao district, UP on June 4, 2017, but also convicted in another case for causing the death of her father in police custody. The rape occurred when the girl went to Sengar’s house for a job that he was allegedly offering.
It is noteworthy that after the rape, the minor victim could not even report the case to the police because Kuldeep Sengar and his goons threatened her and her family. Her father was openly attacked and beaten, and then instead of the perpetrators, he was sent to jail on false charges of protection. The beating was so severe that the victim’s father died in police custody without treatment at the behest of Sengar, his brother, and their associates. When she reported the case, the police were unwilling to register an FIR because Kuldeep Singh Sengar was an MLA and had a lot of influence and power in the area. The victim had to threaten self-immolation at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence before an FIR was registered. Even while Sengar was in jail, Sengar and his associates continued to threaten the victim and her family. They had to apply for protection, and the court granted them CRPF protection, which transferred the case to the CBI and shifted the trial from UP to Delhi. During all this, Sengar and his associates threatened the victim and her family with death if they did not withdraw the case. Sengar had access to all facilities in jail, including a cell phone. Subsequently, an attempt was made on the lives of the victim and her lawyer when she was going to visit an uncle in jail with her aunts. A truck collided with the car they were traveling in, killing one of her aunts, while the victim and her lawyer were seriously injured. The CRPF security detail that was supposed to be with the victim was not present. The Delhi trial court sentenced Kuldeep Singh Sengar to life imprisonment. The trial court also noted the CBI’s failure to conduct a proper investigation. Sengar was also convicted in the murder case of the victim’s father. The High Court directed Sengar not to come within a 5 km radius of the victim’s residence. The appellant was instructed to remain in Delhi while the appeal was pending. AIRWO states that this incident is a continuation of a series of events that have unfolded during the undeclared Hindu Rashtra rule of the RSS, the world’s largest and oldest fascist organization, for over the past 11 years. These events include the release and public honoring of the murderers and rapists in the Bilkis Bano case in Gujarat, the release and public honoring of members of the saffron gang who sexually harassed female students at Banaras Hindu University, and the release on bail of notorious rapists and criminals like Ram Rahim and Asaram Bapu. This is a very dangerous precedent, demonstrating the plight of women under the cruel Manusmriti-based Hindu Rashtra project that the fascist Sangh Parivar is violently pursuing across the country. According to the Manusmriti, the sacred constitution of the Sangh’s Hindu Rashtra, women are mere objects of pleasure and cannot be granted the status of human beings. The Unnao victim has not received justice to this day, and saffron gang members like Kuldeep Sengar, who are perpetrators of violence against women and murderers, are released from prison according to the Manusmriti, while the victims of rape and sexual assault suffer further torment. To date, not a single leader or spokesperson of the Sangh-BJP has uttered a word against the above incident.

AIRWO General Secretary M. Selvi has called upon all progressive women’s organizations to unite and protest against this wrongful suspension of Kuldeep Sengar’s sentence, to ensure proper justice for the victim, and to oppose the fascist, Manuvadi, Brahminical Modi government.

A mass convention was held on 24th September, 2025 in Malda Gazole at the call of the West Bengal State Organizing Committee of CPI(M-L) Red Star, calling for mass resistance against the fascist RSS/BJP. Farmers and working people from various villages participated in this convention. Leaders of various leftist parties were present at the convention. Comrade Chandrakanta Das, Malda District Secretary and State Organizing Committee Member of CPI(M-L) Red Star, Comrade Shankar, Politburo Member of the Party, Comrade Nuhu, Malda District Committee Member, Comrade Ranjit Majumdar, State Organizing Committee Member spoke in the Convention. Besides, Comrade Sadhu Tudu spoke on behalf of CPIM, Comrade Shiben Sarkar on behalf of CPIML, Comrade Nabendu Chatterjee on behalf of CPIML New Democracy, Comrade Ibrahim Sheikh on behalf of CPIML Liberation and Swarupanand Pandey on behalf of RSP.

A resolution against Zionist Israel and in favour of freedom and Salvation of Palestine was adopted in the convention.

Another resolution in favour of building an anti-Fascist Left platform was also taken in the convention.

Meanwhile, on account of fascist interventions, in Maharashtra, instead of 27 September, the Convention is being held today on 28 September. The Convention jointly organised by CPI (ML) Red Star, CPI, Ambedkarvadi Janhit Sanghtna, Lalbavta Riksha Union, RPI Secular and AIRSO and attended by BSP, BAMCEF and Forward Block, was held in Adarsh Vidyalay Dombivli, Mumbai.

However, in the course of the Convention proceedings, the fascist goons claiming themselves as RSS-BJP, came to the scene forcibly trying to obstruct it. Physical assault was avoided only due to timely police intervention. The goons’ objection was against the usage, ” RSS-BJP Fascism” in the Convention.

This is another telltale example for the intensifying fascist offensive in the country, especially in Mumbai, the citadel of reactionary corporate capital, and that too when such a fascist objection targeting the title of the Convention has not been reported from other States.

We call upon all secular, democratic and progressive forces to come forward resolutely condemning this vicious offensive by the fascist forces. We also appeal to all democratic and well-meaning people to rise up against the intensifying fascist offensive in the country, and unitedly fight for defeating the RSS-BJP fascism without any let up.

Under the leadership of the Mazdoor Adhikar Andolan Punjab and the CPI (ML) Red Star, rural toiling masses staged a powerful sit-in demonstration at the BDPO office in Nathana (Bathinda district), Punjab, raising their demands. A large number of women workers participated in the protest.

The programme began with revolutionary songs by Ajmer Akalia. Expressing their anger against the fascist Modi government and the Punjab government, the party’s state secretary Comrade Labh Singh Akalia and Comrade Nashtar Singh Ramnagar addressed the protest, saying that the fascist Modi government at the Centre and the Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab have completely shut down MNREGA work. The condition of the poor working people in the state has become extremely serious.

People are already distressed by severe poverty, inflation and unemployment. The Punjab government has scrapped the law for an eight-hour workday and issued a notification for 12 hours instead—something workers will not tolerate.

The labour leaders submitted a memorandum of workers’ demands to the BDPO on behalf of the Punjab government. The speakers also stated that to benefit big corporate capitalists, the Modi government and the Bhagwant Mann government have abolished 44 labour laws and replaced them with four Labour Codes, which will only lead to further ruthless exploitation of workers by corporate houses.

The protest was also addressed by Bhim Singh Bhupal, Sukhwinder Kaur Sukhi, Harmel Singh Panch, Mandeep Kaur and Baljeet Kaur.

Comrade Azizul Hawq departed us around 2.30 pm on 21 July in Kolkata at the age of 84. The news came to us when our Politburo meeting was in session in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Comrade Hawq came to the communist movement and became a member of the undivided communist party from student movements in the sixties of the last century when the struggle against revisionism was the main struggle within the communist movement. He joined in this struggle with a lot of vigor and joined CPIML under the leadership of Com Charu Mazumder after the great Naxalbari struggle.

Comrade Hawq was arrested in his student days by the Congress government in West Bengal at the time of Indo-China war. He again was arrested in the seventies when the Naxalbari movement was in full swing. At that time he also led the jail-break movement. After the Left-front government came to power in Bengal, Com Hawq finally came out of jail and continued to practice the line of Comrade Charu Mazumbar in Bengal and Bihar. He founded CPIML Second Central Committee with Com Nishith Bhattacharya. As a result he again was arrested by the Left Front government in Bengal and put behind the bar for several years. He faced many brutal torture in jail in both the Congress’ time and Left front time. These continuous tortures had a serious adverse effect on his health.

Of late, he took the side of the Left-front in the face of rising TMC in the context of the famous Singur-Nandigram movement. This decision of Com Hawq gradually drove himself away from the revolutionary communist position.

However, in spite of his left and right deviations we extend our respect to Com Azizul Hawq and put on record our condolences. The working masses of the country will always cherish his memory for his revolutionary spirit and contributions.

AIRSO and RYFI Madhya Pradesh comrades organized a Public Discussion on 23rd March, 2024, the Martyrdom Day of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru and Avtar Singh Pash at Rehati, Sehore District. Com. Sandeep Kalam, State Secretary of AIRSO, Madhya Pradesh convened the meeting. Com. Vijay Kumar, RYFI State Convenor, spoke about the importance of Bhagat Singh’s thoughts in advancing the student-youth movement and working class movement in a revolutionary direction. He also emphasized on the question of unemployment faced by the youth and the working class, while keeping them as a reserve army of labour. Com. Niranjan, representing AIRSO COC, spoke on Bhagat Singh’s thoughts on education, the current attack on education by the corporate-fascist regime, and the necessity to wage uncompromising struggle against them and also channelise these struggles towards the revolutionary transformation of society and education. Comrade Faheem Sarfarosh, from the Caste Annihilation Movement (CAM) said, that Bhagat Singh was one of the first among the revolutionaries who addressed the Dalits as the working class of India. Bhagat Singh firmly upheld that their liberation can’t happen through any gradualism. It can be attained only by starting with a social agitation and advancing it to an economic and political revolution. Com. Faheem also quoted Avtar Singh Pash who was martyred on 23rd March, “The most dangerous thing in the world is the death of our dreams.” He emphasized the necessity to be hopeful that this oppressive system can be changed. Com. Smriti, a State Committee Member of AIRSO said, the systemic exploitation of women, which can’t be isolated from this socio-economic system, is also getting intensified day by day. The labour of women is not even considered labour. They are crushed in domestic slavery. Not just the working class movement or the students movement but also the women’s movement must take inspiration from Bhagat Singh’s thoughts. The programme ended with revolutionary songs and poems.
