The 9th Tamil Nadu State Conference of the CPI (ML) Red Star party was held on July 18 and 19, 2026, at the Sakkarai Chettiar Nagar Welfare Trust Community Hall in Singanallur, Coimbatore district.
At 11:00 AM on July 18, 2026, Comrade Natarajan, a member of the party’s Control Commission, hoisted the red flag. The conference commenced after paying revolutionary tributes to the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives in the class struggle.
The public session began with a welcome address by the Conference Coordinator and Central Committee member, Comrade NP Kumar. Following the inaugural address by the Conference Coordination Committee Chairperson and leftist supporter Comrade C. Murugesan, the public session concluded with greetings from comrades representing fraternal parties, movements, and class-based mass organizations.
Delegates’ Conference
The proceedings began with a proposal by Comrade Manoharan, party’s Politburo member. A presidium comprising Comrades Kumar, Shenbagavalli, and Karky Velan was unanimously accepted. During the conference, the Tamil Nadu State political organizational report and party documents (drafts and amendments) were presented, and a formal discussion took place. The delegates unanimously accepted the proposal for the new State Committee members. A new 20-member State Committee—comprising 17 State Committee members and 3 observers—was duly elected. The newly elected State Committee members convened and once again selected Comrade Manoharan as the State Secretary. After the new State Secretary addressed the delegates, the political resolutions of the conference were passed unanimously. The conference concluded with the lowering of the party flag and the singing of the Internationale.
As part of the conference, a seminar was held on the evening of July 18, 2026, where Com. P.J. James, General Secretary of the CPI (ML) Red Star, delivered an address on the topic: “The Shift in the Global Power Center, the Indian Political Landscape, and the Path Forward for Communist Parties.” Additionally, the Tamil translation of the book Understanding, Fighting, and Defeating RSS Fascism—originally published in English by the Red Star party—was released.
