Chikkamagaluru: CPI (ML) Red Star Party Politburo member Kabeer asserted that a united struggle is the only way to defeat Hindutva fascist policies.
Speaking at a symposium on “RSS Hindutva Fascism against Constitution and Democracy” held at Kuvempu Kalamandir in the city on Saturday in collaboration with the CPI (ML) Red Star, Dalit Organizations’ Alliance, minority organization and progressive organizations in the district, he said that if we want to defeat fascist power, we all need to come under one platform.
Anti-fascist Janata Samavesha is being held in various states in India, from Kerala to Punjab. A national-level program is planned to organize in Hyderabad on December 6. He said that if we want to save democracy, we need to forget the petty issues within us and unite.
There are attempts to divide the country. The aspirations of the visionaries have been violated. Finance capital is leading the fascist forces in the country. Finance capital is facilitating the Sangh Parivar forces. The labor laws that the workers won through struggle have been amended. He criticized that the working class is being exploited and the central government is working in favor of the corporates.
The agricultural sector has been handed over to the corporates and Agri-business lobby. Attacks on the agricultural sector continue, and it has not left the business sector, and work has been done to intimidate the minorities in the name of the majority. He expressed concern that the fascist forces are trying to woo the majority and pit them against the minorities. The country is pushing aside pluralism and imposing Hindutva. The attempt to impose an authoritarian regime is constantly going on. He said that the youth are being fed the falsehood that the Sangh Parivar played an active role in the freedom struggle.
Kabeer, a member of the Polit Bureau of the CPI (ML) Red Star Party, said that the Left parties, progressive organizations, democratic and secular forces and all oppressed masses including minorities, Dalits, Adivasi, women, oppressed caste sections, youth and students should come together to fight unitedly to defeat the fascist power and protect the country’s constitution.
SDPI State Secretary Riyaz Pedambur said, “The constitution is the breath of the country. Such a constitution is in danger. Work is being done to take the country in a different direction. We need to come together to defeat the RSS fascist power in the country. There is pressure to remove the word secular and socialist from the constitution, and we should not allow this,” he said. Work is being done to silence the voices of those opposing the Sangh Parivar in the country. Work is being done to jail those who criticize the central government by using the UAPA Act. He said that it is necessary to ensure that such things do not get a chance in the future.
Speaking after inaugurating the program, Ravish Basappa said that it is necessary to save a pluralistic India. A thorny fence and barrier is being built between people, and this needs to be torn down. The pro-life movement needs to be strengthened and the work of raising one’s voice in favor of the truth needs to be done, he said.
CPI(ML) State Secretary B. Rudrayah said that in the backdrop of the 100th anniversary of RSS, the anti-fascist struggle needs to be led. He said that a large-scale struggle needs to be intensified at the state and district levels.
