CPI (ML) Red Star salutes the working class, peasants and all exploited and oppressed sections for the country-wide mobilisation and participation in the General Strike on 12 February 2026. According to reports, around 30 crore people from more than 600 districts across India participated in the All India strike.
Together with protests against the four Labour Codes and the Free Trade Deals with US, EU and other imperialist countries, the Charter of Demands included repeal of VB-G RAM G Act, SHANTI Act, Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, the Draft Seeds Bill, Electricity (Amendment) Bill, etc. that facilitate corporate Hindutva fascism. The strike has its impact on both formal and informal sectors in varying proportions across India.
Meanwhile, while the strike was going on, it’s highly condemnable that the fascist regime pushed through the Industrial Relations Code ( Amendment) Bill 2026 in the Lok Saha, as part of further enhancing “ease of doing business” for the most regressive corporate-crony capitalists. In the guise of avoiding “future unwarranted complication”, the Industrial Relations Code aims at replacing the Trade Unions Act (1926), Industrial Employment Act (1946) and the Industrial Disputes Act (1947). These and other corporate-fascist offensives taking away whatever left of erstwhile pro-worker provisions, call for prolonged and uncompromising protests in the days ahead, from the workers, peasants and all toiling and oppressed masses in the country!
CPI ( ML) Red Star once again congratulates all the workers, peasants and toiling people who made the All India Strike a succes!
