The CPI (ML) Red Star Ernakulam District Conference

The conference, which began with the commemoration of the martyrs, was inaugurated by Central Committee member Com. P.N. Provint.

In his inaugural address, he explained the awakening of democratic forces through the success of the student-youth movement, the urgent importance of building a broad front against the RSS fascist rule, and the role of the 13th Party Congress.

T. C. Subramanian presented the State Committee Report.

The District Report was presented by District Secretary-in-Charge Com M.K. Dasan was discussed and approved by the conference.

The conference adopted resolutions such as not to hand over drinking water supply to a foreign company, solving the traffic problem of Vypinkara by constructing bridges across the Gosree, abandoning the Samudra Mission project that is giving the maritime region to corporates, withdrawing anti-worker labor codes, and withdrawing the National Education Project (NEP-PMSHRI) that implements corporate-fascist policies.

The conference elected a 9 member new district committee which elected Com. T.C. Subramanian as the district secretary. The conference also elected its delegates to the state conference which is going to hel from 15th to 17th August.

The presidium consisting of N. V. Chandran and K.S. Sindhu controlled the conference proceedings. The conference was concluded by lowering of the flag amidst chanting of Communist International
