The 4th Punjab State Conference of CPI (ML) Red Star concluded successfully at Tarksheel Bhavan, Barnala on 12th July 2026. The conference called upon all party members and democratic forces to make the 13th Party Congress, to be held at Raichur, Karnataka, from September 16–20, 2026. As part of the preparations for the Party Congress, conferences are being organized at all levels, from the grassroots to the state level. The Punjab State Conference was held as part of this countrywide process.
The conference was inaugurated by Comrade Tuhin, Polit Bureau Member of CPI (ML) Red Star. Following the homage to the martyrs and the hoisting of the Red Flag, the proceedings were conducted by the presidium comprising Comrade Labh Singh, Comrade Gurtej Singh Kheenwa, Comrade Kulwant Kaur and Comrade Baljit Kaur. Comrade Vijay, Polit Bureau Member, also addressed the conference.
During the inaugural session, greetings and messages of solidarity were conveyed by Comrade Narayan Dutt, President of Inquilabi Kendra Punjab; Comrade Khushiya Singh, District Secretary of CPI; veteran Left leader Comrade Raj Kumar Mehta; and Dr. Gagan Sharma of Bhagat Singh Vidyarthi Manch, Patiala. Comrade Nakshatra Singh, a member of the State Committee, presented revolutionary songs. The conference held in-depth discussions on the State Committee’s political-organisational report, the updated Party Programme, the updated Party Constitution, Path of Revolution, and the Political Resolution.
The conference resolved to build in Punjab a broad front against the RSS-Manuvadi Fascist–Corporate Alliance, described as a subordinate ally of US imperialism, and to launch a powerful anti-fascist movement.
An eight-member State Committee was elected unanimously, with Comrade Labh Singh elected as the State Secretary. The conference also elected six delegates and two observers to represent Punjab at the 13th Party Congress in Raichur.
The conference unanimously adopted six resolutions. The first demanded justice for the victims of brutal police repression during the Khalistan movement. The second condemned the killing of three Indian sailors by the US Navy and the inhuman deportation of Punjabi and other Indian migrant workers from the United States, while also condemning what it described as the fascist Modi government’s subservience to US imperialism in both matters. The third expressed support for the demands of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and opposed the four pro-corporate Labour Codes. The fourth demanded the withdrawal of the VB Ramji Scheme, restoration of the MGNREGA programme, guaranteed employment for 365 days a year, and a minimum daily wage of ₹800. The fifth opposed the imposition of majoritarian “bulldozer rule” by the fascist RSS-BJP regime. The sixth demanded that discrimination against Punjab in the sharing of river waters be ended and that the state receive its just and rightful share of water.
The conference was attended by representatives of revolutionary Left, progressive and democratic forces from across Punjab, along with leading cadres of the Party and its class and mass organisations.
