Com P. Parvati becomes the newly elected secretary of Ganjam district
Asika, 30/06. The 4th Ganjam district conference of CPI (ML) Red Star was successfully held at Asika Town Hall. The conference elected 11 members district committee and it elected Com P. Parvati as the new district secretary. The outgoing secretary Com Shankar Inkilab hoisted the red flag and all the comrades offered flowers at the martyr’s statue. The Odisha state secretary of CPI (ML) Red Star Com Pramila formally inaugurated the 4th Ganjam district conference and said that the double engine government has become a double destructive government, therefore, the communist movement should be intensified to achieve the rights of the people through further intensified struggles. Along with this, the meritorious students who have brought a special identity to the country by securing a special position in the Odisha Civil Services Examination were felicitated. Prakash Jena, father of Itishree Jena and mother Gayatri Jena, who secured 10th position, and Tarini Sadipat, father of Snigdha Sadipat, who secured 63rd position, received the certificate along with the certificate from the State Secretary. After the open session program, the outgoing District Secretary Shankar Inkilab presented the district organizational and political report in the delegate session. It was discussed and accepted. 11 delegates and 4 observers have been elected to the 8th State Conference to be held at Lohia Academy on 28/29 July 2026. In this conference, proposals were made on the cancellation of 4 specific labor codes, farmers’ demands for justice, unemployment problem, increase in wages, corruption in government schemes and welfare of the common poor, strengthening the democratic movement against the attacks on democracy and constitutional values in the country, protection of tribals, Dalits and displaced people, etc. A reception committee was formed to manage this conference, consisting of Tuna Mallick, Ramachandra Baratya, Yashoda Nayak. The presidium and the minutes writing committee performed their work. Comrade Hena and Vijay Barik joined the state secretary Comrade Pramila as state observers. Finally, the newly elected district secretary Comrade Parvati lowered the red flag and declared the conference concluded.
