Karnataka State Conference Successfully Concluded

The 12th Karnataka State Conference of CPI (ML) Red Star commenced on 27 June at the Institution of Engineers Hall, Mysuru, with great enthusiasm and a firm resolve to strengthen people’s struggles. Following the registration of delegates elected from district conferences held across the state, State Secretary Comrade B. Rudrayayy hoisted Party flag and formally inaugurated the conference. Revolutionary slogans echoed through the venue. The inaugural session began with the singing of The Internationale and a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the oppressed people.

Inaugurating the conference, Comrade P. J. James, General Secretary of the Central Committee of CPI (ML) Red Star, addressed the delegates. He emphasized the urgent need to unite workers, peasants, Dalits, Adivasis, women, youth, and all toiling masses against the growing domination of corporate capital, the fascist politics led by the RSS, caste oppression, and religious communalism in the country. He called upon the Party to strengthen revolutionary mass movements across Karnataka and throughout India, stating that building a strong Communist Party has become a historic necessity of the present time. He conveyed his revolutionary greetings to the conference.

Later, progressive Left intellectual V. Lakshminarayana addressed the gathering. He stressed that the need of the hour is to unite the fragmented Left and democratic forces on the basis of broad unity in order to strengthen the people’s resistance against communal and fascist forces. He called for continuous efforts towards Left unity in Karnataka as well as throughout the country.

The conference elected M. Gangadhar, D. K. Lingasugur, S. R. Manjunath, K. K. Krishnappa, and Bhagya to the Presidium. R. Manasaiah, B. Rudrayya and Kandegal Srinivasa were elected to the Steering Committee, while M. Niranjan and Sandeep D. D. were elected to the Minutes Committee. The two-day agenda of the State Conference was presented and unanimously adopted.

Thereafter, State Secretary Comrade B. Rudrayayy presented Political and Organisational Report of the Karnataka State Committee. The report offered a comprehensive analysis of the country’s political developments, the offensive of corporate capital, the issues confronting workers, peasants, Dalits, Adivasis, and other oppressed sections, organisational developments, and the future strategy of the Party’s struggles.

During the discussion on the report, members of the State Committee and delegates from various districts actively participated by presenting their views, experiences, and suggestions for strengthening the movement. The discussion was vibrant, politically rich, and marked by active participation.

On the second day, the presentation of the four major draft documents prepared by the party’s Central Committee was led by General Secretary Com. P.J. James and PB (Politburo) Member Com. R. Manasayya. Delegates from Karnataka state were selected for the party’s 13th Party Congress, after which a new State Committee consisting of 15 comrades was elected. Com. M. Gangadhar was elected as the new State Secretary of Karnataka. The outgoing State Secretary and the Central Committee extended their wishes to the newly formed State Committee. Furthermore, the conference concluded with the lowering of the flag by the new State Secretary to the tune of the Communist International anthem
